Re: Gloucester Township traffic intersection camera system
Career politician
We are writing as concerned 1st District voters in South Jersey. We think it's time for U.S. Rep. Rob Andrews, D-N.J., to man-up and come out of hiding.
No knowledge
The Courier-Post has printed a plethora of attacks on the Obama administration in recent months. I must address two such letters -- "Enforce" (Aug. 24) and "Lawyer-in-chief" (Aug. 25).
Equal justice
Re: "Audubon suspends athletic director" (C-P, Aug. 16).
Abysmal
I was stirred to write about the Courier-Post's abysmal coverage of the "Restoring Honor" gathering in Washington on Aug. 28.
Memories
I was very sad to learn of the death of Robert Baxter. I considered him a good friend and an immense authority on music.
Warped
Re: "Questions" (letters, Aug. 31).
Disgusted
We should be disgusted by the recent revelations of the abuse of privileges at the Delaware River Port Authority. Our level of outrage should be much more intense than what I have heard.
Support
We just lost 21 U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan over a 48-hour span. How do we possibly show our support and condolences to their families and the families before them.
Shortchanged
Re: "Error cited in loss of funding" (C-P, Aug. 26).
Preserving rights
Re: "Don't confuse mosque plans with terrorism" (editorial, Aug. 21).
Do job
Police must protect the public and their jobs. Having family and friends on the job, I know writing tickets is low on their priorities as is court, but this is their job.
Exploited
In a recent letter, a candidate for representative of New Jersey's 1st District stated that "many Americans" were "in disbelief" at President Barack Obama's remarks regarding the Park51 Islamic Center in Lower Manhattan.
Give him credit
Re: "Monitor approved for Glouco lawsuit" (C-P, July 28).
Safety measures
I've watched the Baja races on TV and seen spectators close enough to the race course to touch the race vehicles as they go screaming by at high speed.
New Jersey can take steps to encourage job creation
Labor Day is a celebration of working people everywhere. It recognizes what the middle class has built and the power of our shared vision.
Cash cow
Thank you, Assemblyman Domenick DiCicco, for wanting a full audit of the Delaware River Port Authority. The residents that rely on the bridges and PATCO need people like you to uncover the wasteful spending in bureaucracies like this one.
Civil service
Re: "Untie the hands of town managers" (editorial, Aug. 19).
Clean Air Act
Re: "Think this summer is hot? Get used to it" (C-P, Aug. 11).
Social Security
In today's politically correct society, groupthink has become de rigueur. Posit the Social Security dilemma.
Economy has stung working class families in New Jersey
The New Jersey labor movement commemorates Labor Day 2010 with a focus on one of our country's most pressing issues: jobs. Since the recession began, approximately 10 million jobs were lost; New Jersey's unemployment rate was last reported at 9.
Help wanted: new education commissioner
As the dust settles on the tenure of Bret Schundler, Chris Christie should be looking for a replacement with a proven track record in education, rather than a political resume.
Religious freedom must extend to all
President Barack Obama's remarks supporting the right to build a mosque near ground zero reverberated across the country, nationalizing a passionate debate over the project.
Site near attack is simply in poor taste
The proposed building of a mosque/Islamic cultural center near ground zero in Manhattan has engendered vociferous debate from extremists on both sides of the issue.
South Jerseyans can make a difference
Over the past year, a movement has been growing throughout New Jersey -- a movement for civic and fiscal responsibility.

Re: "Waffler" (letters, Aug. 13)
Only women?
The editorial cartoon from the Aug. 5 Opinion page (shown above) was an interesting comment on Gov. Chris Christie's attitude toward females.
Thanks
On Aug. 22 my car skidded on the wet roadway ramp leading onto Interstate 295. My car was disabled.
